Windows
QDA Miner requires minimal resources itself, running on as little as 256 MB RAM and 40 MB of disk space. But remember, your operating system also needs resources:
- Windows 10: 1GB RAM (2GB recommended).
- Windows 11: 4GB RAM minimum (8GB recommended) and 64GB disk space
MAC OS & Linux
MacOS: QDA Miner can be installed and run on Mac using several easy Wine-based installation methods, without the need to install Windows or set up a virtual machine. We provide step-by-step instructions and automated installation options for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.

QDA Miner can also be run in a Windows virtual machine using solutions such as Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox. On Apple Silicon Macs, this requires Windows 11 Arm.
Linux: QDA Miner can be run directly using Wine or CrossOver, or in a Windows virtual machine using solutions such as VMware Workstation Pro or VirtualBox.
